Web-tool verification for aluminium windowsTwo verifications of the EAA EPD web-based software tool for aluminium windows have been organised by the EAA program operator. These verifications aimed at checking that the EAA EPD web-based tool was following the EAA program rules and was generating EPDs in accordance with the PCR. Concerning the EPD software tool, particular attention was devoted to the user interface and to the parameters to be fixed by the users in order to prevent any misuse or any LCA calculation error. Several EPDs were also submitted to the verifier for plausibility check. |

The second verification took place considering the significant update of the background data which was organised in the second half of 2008. The EAA LCI datasets (reference year 2005) reported in the new environmental profile report have been implemented within the tool as well as new data on anodising and new Ecoinvent data on glass production. Both verifications have been done by Dr Eva Schmincke.
