Raw material source scrap

Secondary raw materials arise during the recovery and recycling of aluminium containing products, e.g. automobiles, or during aluminium production or processing stages. They are collected and recovered by the metal trade, or by the refiners and remelters themselves. The »Duale System Deutschland (DSD)« provides considerable quantities of packaging scrap.

Secondary raw materials can be separated according to different scrap types, depending on their quality and properties and their chemical composition. The following list which is based on »Aluminium and aluminium alloys – Scrap « EN 13920-1 to 13901-16 contains aluminium scrap types that are now common
